Can You Really Make A Living Tearing Up Old Books and Magazines?

It could astonish you, but one of the simplest things to sell on eBay is pieces of paper. But only if you know the right kind of paper to list.

One of the best money makers by far is old pictures — if the subject is the right one. Dogs are the one subject that make for an almost guaranteed sale.

Yes, it’s true. It’s no exaggeration to say that dogs can put food on your table!

Locating and selling dog pictures to dog fans can be a smart little business. And surprisingly, few people are doing this yet — so you won’t have much competition if you jump in right now.  So, there’s room for more folks to get in and make money.

Now, here’s the great thing: you should be able to obtain dog pictures and prints–your business “stock”–virtually for nothing.Next, you simply resell the pictures–for a profit, of course–on a site such as eBay.

Some folks even make a living at this. While dogs are an excellent subject to specialize in, others do well in the market, too: trains and sailing ships, for example.

So where do you find these old dog pictures? Answer: Old photographs and old drawings, pulled from old books and old magazines.

Believe this: Frequently, you can sell a single image from an old book for much more than the whole book cost. All you need to do is target a particular group of people: those who are searching for the subject of a given picture.

Dogs have been proven to be one of the best-selling subjects. A number of buyers will collect many different kinds of dog pictures. Others only like to collect pictures of one particular breed of dog. For example, a devotee of German Sherpherd dogs might easily have dozens or even hundreds of could have dozens of prints of this breed displayed in his office or home.

By searching diligently, you can find lots of old books about dogs. Many of these books will have gorgeous color plates illustrating various breeds.  Some of them might contain 20, 30 or more such plates.

When you find such a book, you can carefully remove the pages with the illustrations, and mat them them individually. Believe it or not, you may then be able to sell them for as much as fifty or a hundred dollars–each!–on auction sites, eBay being prime among them.

By the way, the highest prized photos and paintings are those that portray any of the hunting breeds of dog.But photos or prints of any kind of dog can usually be sold on eBay — and for a good profit.

Besides the aforementioned dogs, ships and trains, keep an eye out for books with prints of old timey cars, cities and towns, country scenes, and horses. There are other topics that sell well, too.

To be successful in this, you must take time to learn where to find old books with the images that will sell. You must also learn how to remove the images so as to prevent damage. And, you should learn how to present them (starting with mounting them) to catch the attention of the high bidders on eBay.
