Designing An Effective Email Lead Page
|
Squeeze pages, also referred to as lead generator pages, are a very useful tool for any internet marketer.
Squeeze pages are designed with one purpose in mind. Their sole aim is to prize an email address out of a visitor. After that, you can market to them to your heart's content. But you can't do that until they sign up for your list!
Firstly, pick a template for your lead generation page. You can find landing page templates for free or for a small charge. Or you can have one designed specially for you. The free option is OK if your market isn't saturated. Don't use them for more competitive markets such as dieting, day trading, internet marketing and even dog training. If you don't do this, there's a high chance that your potential customer will have encountered a near-identical squeeze page so many times before, they're bored with it. So they would be more likely to click the back button.
Next, change your template. At the very least, you'll want to put in your own headline and bullet points. You may also want to split test your headlines to make sure that you’re getting the maximum number of sign-ups. Some marketers have reported that they regularly get 7 out of ten people signing up from the squeeze pages they create.
You can also test other elements on your lead generation page. Most of the time, people report that they get better results when they add audio messages to their squeeze pages. Test this as well as whether the message plays automatically when a visitor reaches your squeeze page.
Nowadays, you will find video appearing more frequently on squeeze pages. Many marketers have found that using a "part one" video on their squeeze page with "part two" only available after sign-up is a very effective technique. If you want to take this path, make sure you leave your readers with a "cliff hanger" at the end of part one. Just like the ones they used to have om Saturday mornings at the movies. If you don't rememer these, think of the ending of an episode of the television show "24". Make sure your viewer is hungry for more information. Which you'll let them have - once they've confirmed their email address.
You can get your squeeze pages designed at the click of a button with this simple lead page generator.
