A Few Guidelines on Writing Book Reports, from a teacher

You might have noticed two words that must be defined these are review and report. That is, a book review and a book report are different, even though many confuse the two. Ask your teacher for clarification if you are not sure whether the project calls for a review or a report:

A book report typically contains actual elements and characteristics of the book, the author’s name, the title, genre (type or category book fits in), publication information, and what Sova and Teitelbaum call the “conditions under which the book was published” (how, why, etc.), and a summary of the book. The book report is, in essence, the factual information without any opinion.

A book review does have an opinion included, as well as some information about the book that people who have not read it would appreciate knowing.

Why Persuasive Writing Sells More Books

by Kalinda Rose Stevenson, PhD

Persuasive writing focuses on your reader more than your book topic. It is a mindset that reminds you that writing to persuade your reader is your goal.

This mindset will help you avoid the “topic trap” that many writers fall into unawares. What is the topic trap? The topic trap is also a mindset. It is the tendency to think about the topic of your book without identifying why a potential reader would care enough about the topic to buy the book and read it.

You might not realize how much a book is an interaction between the writer and the reader. In fact, a book is an interactive medium. You might not think so when you spend so many hours working by yourself to write it, facing the blank page or the empty screen.

The process of writing can be very lonely and it is easy to forget that your ultimate goal is to have someone buy and read your book. Your primary objective is to persuade book buyers to buy what you have written. This means that your potential reader needs to be part of the process from the very beginning.

When writers start their books from the “topic trap” perspective, the first question they ask is: What is the book about? In contrast, when writers start their books with a persuasive writing mindset, they ask a different first question: Who would want to read this book? An even better question is to ask: Who would actually pay to read this book?

Let’s fast forward to the scene in a bookstore, when a potential book buyer picks up your book. You have only seconds to persuade your potential reader to buy your book.

Writers who write from the persuasive writing perspective understand the difference between offering information and offering a solution to a problem. Especially in the “Information Age,” when most people are overloaded with information, it is critical to understand that book buyers are not really looking for more information. They are looking for solutions to problems.

How do you make sure that your book solves a problem for your targeted reader? The best way is to focus your book on a problem-solving thesis.

At its most basic level, writing to persuade requires you to make a case to your reader to solve the reader’s problem.

This is why a persuasive writing mindset is your best strategy to sell more books. The more successful you are at persuading potential readers that your book will solve their problem, the more readers will want to buy your book.

Reviews In A Box - See What Happened When I Tried It

Jean-Philippe Schoeffel has just come out with a new membership where he provides you with 2 reviews in a box (minisites with video) every month for a very low fee - right now, but don’t miss the launch price deal.

Trial membership costs just $1 and you get to download all of the current content right away. So for a measly $1 you get 2 review sites plus bonuses products to attract more buyers, plus a handful of PLR articles that you can use to drive traffic to your site, plus subscriber emails if you want to build a list. There is a place on each site for your autoresponder form.

2 Reviews In A Box For $1 - Click Here

It is simple to set up the sites. You simply insert your site name and affiliate link for the product, plus your autoresponder form if you want to collect subscribers, and upload the page, graphics and video that are provided.

Personally I would put all the product sites as subfolders or subdomains of one site. Then visitors can see that you are reviewing a lot of products (you will get more each month) and they have more to choose from.

These are just one page sites so although they have professional graphics and a video they are simple to deal with.

You can edit the page however you want, and it’s probably a good idea to amend the headline as well as some of the text to make it unique for search engine rankings and give it some individuality. You get source files for the videos too. So if you’re a video whiz you could add a link to your review site on the video and submit it to YouTube and similar sites.

You get PSDs for the graphics so if you can edit these you could also import your own reviews of different products and easily create similar graphics for those products. You do not have to limit yourself to the reviews that JP Schoeffel provides.

Have I tried uploading a site? … Yes.

I paid my dollar and uploaded my first site and it is as simple as he says. In fact I found it incredibly easy. Unlike many, this deal truly is turnkey.

I created a test review site here for you to check out:

See My Reviews In A Box Test Site

By the way, the link labeled “Get review sites like this one” is not included in the package. I added it for your convenience. I would not recommend revealing your source in this way on a real site.

You will see that the review itself is long and very thorough. My own opinion is that it is also very fair.

Don’t forget you get a $1 trial and for that you get to download the first two sites. Sign up today - I think these reviews in a box could really help your business.
